My Testimony

I was a church kid, meaning I grew up in church. Our local church was my happy place but when my parents moved our family to another state my “happy place” was hours away. My relationship with our church and church culture was stronger than my relationship with the Lord. Through my later teenage years and earlier adulthood I had a relationship with God but it was shallow. I didn't seek the Lord for guidance and I was a lukewarm Christian.

In 2023, I felt God calling me to go deeper. My eyes were opened and as I got closer to Him I noticed that certain habits began to fall away from me. I didn’t have an appetite for the things I did before. I no longer listen to the things I used to, I didn't go to certain places or delight in the things that hurt my Savior. I got re-baptized in a backyard pool that was prayed over by a sincere man of God. When I came up from that watery grave I knew that this time would be different because this baptism was me as an adult choosing Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
