The Good News
If you have eyes to see and ears to hear then you know that we live in an evil world. Yes, indeed there is beauty in this world and good things too but there’s also corruption, greed, envy, hatred , murder, rape and so on. God did not intend for the world to be this way.
Genesis 2:15-17 (NLT)
The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden— except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
Adam and Eve were created sinless, fearless and unashamed but then they rebelled against God’s only warning and died spiritually. They let sin into the perfect world that God created.
Genesis 3:7 (NLT)
At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
To save us from spiritual death and being eternally separated from Our creator, God sent someone to pay the ultimate price for sin that we could not pay. He sent his son, Jesus.
John 3:16 (NLT)
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus came to Earth to sacrifice His life to make us right in God's eyes again. Jesus led a sinless life that we could not live and died an excruciating death for you and I. So if we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for us and rose from the grave then we are saved from eternal separation from God.
